Most writers find it easier to write a whole novel than to describe it in two sentences. That's understandable. You've spent months in this world. But an agent needs to be able to place your book — to know where it sits on the shelf, who will buy it, and which editors to pitch it to. If you can't tell them clearly, they can't do any of that. This chapter will help you figure out exactly what you're selling.
