PairPi

How PairPi works

A modern directory of verified literary agents across the UK and US with up-to-date submission guidelines, so you can focus on writing, not researching.

What is PairPi?

PairPi (pair-pee) is a clean, searchable directory of literary agents. Every listing shows what an agent represents, whether they're open to submissions, what materials they want, and how to submit, all backed by a source link and a “last checked” date so you know the information is current.

PairPi covers both UK and US literary agents, with UK coverage currently deeper and updated most often. Our goal is simple: make the process of finding the right agent less confusing and more transparent.

Using the directory

The agent directory is the heart of PairPi. Here's what you can do:

Search

Find agents by name, agency, or genre. Start typing and results update instantly.

Filter

Narrow by country, submission method (email, online form, QueryManager), and open/closed status.

Browse agent cards

Each card shows the agent's name, agency, genres they represent, open status, and how to submit.

View full details

Click any agent for the full breakdown - materials wanted, submission link, notes, and source.

Filters sync to the URL, so you can bookmark or share any search.

Freshness and trust

Outdated information wastes your time. That's why every PairPi listing includes two things you won't find on most directories:

  • Last checked date: shows exactly when we last verified the listing against the agent's own website. Stale entries are flagged so you never rely on old data.
  • Source link: a direct link to the agency's official source page. You can always verify our information yourself.

We check listings against their source pages regularly and always link directly to an official source page, so you have everything you need to verify details and submit with confidence.

Who it's for

PairPi is built for aspiring and mid-list authors looking for literary representation. Whether you're preparing to submit for the first time or switching agents, the directory helps you find the right people, understand what they want, and submit with confidence.

What makes PairPi different

Fresh data: Listings are regularly checked and updated. You'll see when each one was last verified.

Independent ranking: Paid plans expand workflow limits, full-result Smart Search access, and email alerts. Agent visibility and matching order are based on fit, freshness, and verified listing data.

Source transparency: Every listing links to its source. We show our work so you can trust it.

Modern experience: Fast search, clear filters, and a mobile-friendly design. No ads or clutter.
