US Middle Grade Fantasy Literary Agents

122 agents · 76 currently open to submissions

Middle grade fantasy is a powerhouse category because it asks for two difficult things at once: a world children want to disappear into, and a voice that keeps the story clear, funny, frightening, or tender without ever feeling simplified. Agents looking for middle grade fantasy tend to care as much about emotional shape as magic systems. The adventure has to matter to an 8-to-12 reader.

A word on the search. Some agents list middle grade and fantasy separately, while others only say children's fiction or speculative fiction. This page narrows to agents with both signals. Use the broad search toggle on the main directory when you want to include agents whose children's remit may cover fantasy even if they have not named it directly.

Every listing on PairPi is verified against the agent's own website, with the date we last checked. Middle grade fantasy lives or dies on voice, pace, and age fit. Make sure the wonder belongs to the child reader, not just to the worldbuilding.
