Fiction: love/loyalty/relationships, family drama/secrets, moral dilemmas, thrillers including legal, dystopian/speculative with mainstream crossover appeal. Non-fiction: original thinkers, personal growth, philosophy/insight

Email submissions@janklow.co.uk with your name, the title of your work, and the name of the agent in the subject line. Include a covering letter in the body of the email. For fiction, attach a synopsis and first three chapters or first 50 pages. For non-fiction, attach a full chapter outline and a sample chapter if possible. For poetry, attach a short pitch and 3-5 sample poems. Attachments should be in Word or PDF format.

Commercial and book club fiction with a strong hook, genre-crossing, dystopia, elevated sci-fi, big love stories, domestic suspense, horror (incl social commentary)

Attach a synopsis and either the first three chapters or the first fifty pages (Word or PDF). All documents should be double-spaced, size 12, in a reasonable font. Do not include external links, attach all materials directly.

Upmarket commercial to literary fiction, distinctive voice/character-driven with strong hook/unusual perspective, multigenerational novels, gripping love stories, funny fiction, feminist/revisionary, experimental/form. Non-fiction: memoir and narrative, history, food writing/food system, nature/planet, popular science, genre-melding cultural writing

For fiction: include a covering letter (in the email body), synopsis, and the first three chapters or first fifty pages as attachments. For non-fiction: include a covering letter, a full chapter-by-chapter outline, and a sample chapter. All documents should be double-spaced, size 12, in a reasonable font, and submitted as Word or PDF attachments — no external links. Responses are sent within 8 weeks if the agency wishes to read more.

For poetry, attach a short pitch and 3-5 sample poems. Attachments should be in Word format, PDFs are acceptable. Do not include external links. Notify the agency if you receive a full manuscript request elsewhere.
