Fiction, nonfiction, fiction plus, diverse voices
Wants: Covering letter, synopsis, first chapter, first twenty pages, proposal, CV
Dorie Simmonds is looking for talented authors with unique voices, compelling stories, market potential, polished manuscripts, collaborative commitment, and platform potential. She represents fiction and nonfiction and is especially interested in Fiction Plus: stories set in a time and place where readers learn about life, people, culture, art, history, or another part of the world while following a compelling narrative. The agency aims to foster global connections and promote diverse voices.
Email submissions to info@doriesimmonds.com. For fiction, send the first chapter or first twenty pages, whichever is less, plus a full synopsis and covering letter with a brief writing-career CV if appropriate. For nonfiction, send a detailed proposal with the covering letter and CV. Do not submit a full manuscript unless requested, and say whether the project is under consideration elsewhere.
