Agent page: send covering letter in email body and first 3 chapters or a couple short stories (Word, not PDF). Non-fiction: cover letter and proposal and sample material. Poetry: selectively book-length collections, usually poets with journal or magazine publications or prize listings. Do not submit to assistant unless referred or recommended or already published.
