Email cover letter in body and attachments. Subject: "Submission: [your name] [TITLE]". Fiction: first 3 chapters or 10k and short full-book synopsis. Non-fiction: detailed proposal and (if possible) sample chapter or writing. No YA or children's or poetry or illustrated or screenplays (with few existing-client exceptions).
